Cornelius Cardovillis

Cornelius was a close family friend to Joni’s parents and after their death became a source of wisdom and grounding for him.

With his deep voice and incredible presence, he is a larger than life character. His gruffly charm suggests a worldly travelled and military past. Cornelius can quote Aristotle one minute and punch you in the face the next. He does not suffer fools gladly.

There are a lot of things Cornelius doesn’t trust: He doesn’t trust people who don’t like animals, he doesn’t trust people with weak handshakes, right handed people who wear watches on their right wrist, people who stand too close to the baggage claim belts and so on…but if there’s one person he does trust, it’s Joni.

As a mentor, he is often concerned about the risks Joni is willing to take and the dangers he puts himself in. But he understands Joni’s need for answers and uses his connections to intelligence agencies to supply Joni with leads to cases based on unexplained phenomena, in the hope that one day Joni will find the answers he is looking for.
